Sleeping with Finnegan

For the past few weeks I've been socializing with three new parents and
their children. We meet twice a week to exercise and have the babies
socialize with each other.

One of the topics of discussion has been about getting the babies to
sleep on a schedule and in their own crib. Well, I've been mostly
listening to the conversation without really sharing my views because I
don't ascribe to their practices.

Finnegan slept in the crib the first week and then the third and fourth
week, but then we moved him into the bed with us because he was too
cold in the crib. Of course, I wasn't getting much sleep at first, but
then he needed to eat about every hour. The point I want to make is I
love having Finnegan in the bed with me because I don't want him to be
far from me. We put him in a special sleeping setup so that we don't
hurt him and that he protected from the blankets etc. And we sleep
very well.

Everyone says that if you let the baby into your bed they will never
leave, but I'm willing to take the chance because I love Finnegan so
much that I want to enjoy this time that I have with him even if it's
just sleeping next to each other with his daddy and me.

Amen. :) I remember the first night we had Jade home, and I just couldn't bring myself to put her in the crib. How could I have her sleep that far from me, totally alone? I understand completely.
